Juliana R. Knaup, BA, BS
Juliana R. Knaup, BA, BS is an intern at the Institute on Violence Abuse and Trauma (IVAT). She joined the institute as part of her requirement to complete her master’s forensic, clinical, and research internships. She received her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology (BA) and in Criminology and Criminal Justice (BS) from the University of Missouri, Saint Louis in 2016. Mrs. Knaup will graduate with her master’s in forensic psychology in June 2019 from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Here she has received extensive training in forensic psychology, including, but not limited to, psychological assessments, risk assessments, therapy, and expert-witness skills. Presently working in a confidential emergency domestic violence shelter, Mrs. Knaup has been providing counseling services to survivors of domestic violence, as well as their children. She has experience working with individuals recovering from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse at IVAT in San Diego. Mrs. Knaup is currently working on her master’s thesis researching a correlation of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) on types of future offending in juveniles.
