Our clinicians are licensed psychologists, post-doctoral fellows, pre-doctoral interns, and/or doctoral level clinicians. All of our unlicensed clinicians are supervised by one or more licensed clinical psychologist on staff. Services may be available in other languages.
THERAPY Individual, family, and group therapy is available. We offer low-cost options so that our services are accessible to all. Treatment services are provided on a sliding scale based on income.
COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES We also offer community based therapeutic services. Therapy is provided by doctoral-level clinicians and post-doctoral fellows to various community based programs throughout San Diego. We currently provide therapy for domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, transitional housing programs, and youth programs at various locations.
PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS Neuropsychological testing and educational assessments are available.
SUPERVISED VISITATION IVAT clinicians are able to provide supervised/court-ordered visitations, as well as re-unification therapy.
PARENTING SKILLS Our providers offer individual therapy that can be tailored to train clients in parental skills in fulfillment of court-ordered therapies. At this time, IVAT does not offer group therapy or specific classes. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
- All clinicians at IVAT are trained in various trauma-focused and evidenced-based treatments with specific specialty areas in child abuse and maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking.
- Because IVAT is a resource and training center, our clinicians have access to and participate in the latest mental health research.
- IVAT’s clinicians participate in continuous training in order to enhance their clinical skills and keep current on emerging mental health issues.
- We believe that everyone has a right to get help, regardless of financial situation. That’s why we offer an income-based sliding scale for mental health services.
