What is Stop the Silence®?
Stop the Silence® is a department of the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma committed to prevention, treatment, and mitigation of child sexual abuse (CSA), other adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and related interpersonal trauma. We provide help and resources through comprehensive programming with awareness, education/outreach, training, and policy development and reform. We work to address the relationships between childhood trauma and the broader issues of overall family and community violence, and violence within and between communities.
Program Overview
This Program will help you advance in a easily-accessible manner. Each section of the Program (Certificate and Master’s) has three courses, each with three pre-recorded presentations of about an hour each, as well as background readings, short quizzes, and interactive forums. There is one student-led, live-on-Zoom presentation/discussion in each of the Program sections. The Master’s also includes papers and a thesis. Offered by Stop the Silence® and IVAT, a leading international resource in violence prevention, in partnership with the University of Applied Research and Development (UARD), this program combines interactive courses and independent study to help you achieve your goals and enhance your career.
