IVAT’s Bridging Research-to-Practice Project (R2P)
IVAT’s Bridging Research-to-Practice (R2P) Project bridges the gap between research and practice in the interpersonal violence field, translating current research into accessible, actionable resources (information from evidence exchange - distilling relevant information into digestible data for follow up) for front-line service providers, practitioners, advocates, and communities. Through a coordinated network, R2P builds sustained connections (bi-directional information across providers) in the interpersonal violence field, (thereby informing and) ultimately improving treatment and prevention efforts, as well as victim/survivor and offender services.
IVAT’s mission, vision and strategic plan align with the goals of this project:
Improving cross-discipline collaboration
Linking research, practice, policy, and advocacy
Addresses and bridges the research to practice gap through bidirectional dissemination of information
Increasing awareness of IVAT, on a national level, as a comprehensive resource and training center that addresses violence, abuse and trauma across the lifespan
Provides professional development across disciplines for professionals to receive training and earn continuing education credits
