Andrea Anthony, PsyD

Andrea Anthony is a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute on Violence Abuse and Trauma. She brings a deep foundational background to her role, having spent 10 years working in community mental health, crisis support in rural jails, and family intervention before returning to school to earn her doctorate in psychology. During this decade of practice, she worked as a pre-licensed master's level therapist in Tennessee treating severe mental illness and providing crisis support, and as a family intervention specialist providing wraparound services to CPS-involved families to ensure in-home child safety. She has extensive experience providing therapeutic services, crisis intervention, psychological assessment, and group facilitation across diverse populations, including forensic and high-risk clients. Her clinical interests include forensic psychological evaluation, trauma-informed care, and the intersection of mental health and the legal system. Her work integrates evidence-based practices with a culturally sensitive approach, aiming to promote mental wellness and ethical forensic practice.
